Provides appropriate professional development opportunities for the staff and ensures they receive timely and accurate performance assessments.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Manages US federal and state tax audit activity, including active engagement with external tax auditors and governmental agencies, as well as outside tax consultants as appropriate.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Initiates and implements high value tax strategies to minimize US federal, state and local income taxes and other related non-income taxes while working closely with business management to ensure the business can continue to operate in a manner consistent with its broader (non-tax) objectives.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Advises management of the impact of proposed and newly-enacted US federal and state tax laws, decisions, regulations and rulings, and manages any implementation efforts required by these changes as well as any tax-related changes to accounting guidance. </span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Analyzes the facts and circumstances of significant transactions and directs or performs research as needed to ensure proper compliance with US federal and state tax rules and regulations.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Maintains responsibility for computation of quarterly income tax estimates, annual return style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color:black">Ensures that SOX 404 processes are followed, proper documentation is prepared and tested and controls are continually
