Position overview As a Process Expert, you will play a key role in ensuring successful start‑up performance for new builds, new lines, and line conversions across washer, RO, and WWT process areas. You will be responsible for achieving target efficiency, spoilage, and environmental compliance, while supporting optimization of material usage, supplies, and utilities. In this role, you will lead a specific process area based on your expertise and contribute to building technical capability across sites during critical start‑up phases. Please note that this role requires frequent travel across the EMEA region to support plant operations, projects and stakeholder collaboration. Key responsibilities include: <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Performing specialised chemical and process adjustments to optimise production outcomes.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Leading troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for complex mechanical and process issues.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Ensuring optimal performance and reliability of chemical processing equipment during start‑ups, delivering results aligned with start‑up curves.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Providing technical leadership for FE area performance during start‑up phases.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Training site personnel in process understanding, performance expectations, and autonomous operation.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Supporting emergency breakdowns and size conversions, enabling local teams to execute independently.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Conducting quality checks and ensuring compliance with safety standards, legal requirements, and site procedures.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Identifying and eliminating waste, inefficiencies, and material losses, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Supporting development and execution of preventive maintenance routines.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Optimising chemical processing lines using in‑line measurement systems and controls to maintain stability and performance.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Supporting implementation of BOE standards within assigned areas.</li> </ul> What we’re looking for? <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Degree in Chemical Engineering and relevant experience (minimum 3 years as CPO or CPM in can manufacturing)</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Strong hands-on experience with washers, wastewater treatment systems, soluble oil systems, filtration and cooling towers</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Proven capability in equipment setup, troubleshooting and optimisation, with solid understanding of chemical properties, reactions, handling, storage and disposal</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Ability to train and transfer process knowledge to others (Train-the-Trainer certification is an advantage)</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with proficiency in computer tools for data analysis and reporting</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Experience with line launches or rebuild projects is an advantage</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Continuous improvement and ownership mindset with focus on waste reduction</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Flexibility to travel on short notice</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Fluency in English is required, additional languages are an advantage.</li> </ul> Work Environment: Please note that this role can be based in any eligible Ball manufacturing location within EMEA. Hiring Range: 40,500 – 58,320 EUR gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks. Depending on these factors, the actual offer may fall above or below the posted range. Incentive Plan: This position is eligible to participate in Ball’s annual incentive compensation program.
