As our new <strong>Legal Counsel, Spain</strong>, you’ll play a key part in this mission.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">In this role, you will serve as the primary legal partner for our Spanish affiliate, acting as a trusted advisor across a broad range of legal matters. You will take ownership of legal activities in Spain, with a strong focus on public procurement and tender processes that are critical to enabling patient access to our therapies.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role designed for a motivated legal professional eager to grow and expand their scope. You will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external advisors, with the opportunity to develop into a broader Iberia legal lead over time. The role combines operational execution (notably tender work) with strategic responsibility for the country’s legal landscape.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">WHAT YOU’LL DO</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">As Legal Counsel for Spain, you will take ownership of legal matters across the affiliate, with a strong emphasis on public tenders while supporting a wide range of business activities.</span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><span style="">Lead and manage all public procurement and tender-related legal matters, representing approximately 50–60% of the role, including documentation, timelines, and coordination with internal teams and external agencies</span></li> <li><span style="">Independently handle tender processes end-to-end, ensuring compliance with Spanish public procurement regulations and supporting successful market access</span></li> <li><span style="">Provide comprehensive legal support to the Spanish business across contracting, employment law, and general corporate matters</span></li> <li><span style="">Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including commercial, consulting, software, confidentiality, manufacturing, and distributor contracts</span></li> <li><span style="">Partner closely with HR on Spanish labor law matters and employee-related topics</span></li> <li><span style="">Manage and coordinate external legal counsel and tender specialists</span></li> <li><span style="">Act as the primary legal point of contact for the affiliate, working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and supporting business growth initiatives</span></li> <li><span style="">Contribute to building legal capabilities in Spain, with the potential to expand scope to Iberia over time</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="">ABOUT YOU</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="">Minimum Requirement:</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="">Law degree in Spain</span></li> <li><span style="">3–5 years of experience in a mid-sized to large law firm or relevant in-house environment</span></li> <li><span style="">Proven experience in public procurement law and public tenders, ideally with hospitals or regional authorities</span></li> <li><span style="">Solid knowledge of Spanish labor law and employment-related matters</span></li> <li><span style="">Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken</span></li> <li><span style="">Ability to work independently with a proactive, hands-on mindset and strong sense of ownership</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="">These additional qualifications are preferred:</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="">Experience in life sciences or medical device industry</span></li> <li><span style="">Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally</span></li> <li><span style="">High level of motivation, curiosity, and desire to grow into broader responsibility</span></li> <li><span style="">Good judgment and adaptability in a dynamic, evolving environment</span></li> <li><span style="">Organized and detail-oriented approach, particularly for documentation-heavy tender processes</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="">ABOUT NOVOCURE</span></p> <p><span style="">Novocure is a company with a powerful mission, to extend the lives of people living with some of the most aggressive forms of cancer.
