<p><strong>Where you’ll work:</strong></p> <p>Our flexible, hybrid work model offers the option to work remotely or in the office.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>How you’ll contribute: </strong></p> <p>As an Actuarial Associate, you’ll be responsible for deliverables related to our variable annuities and flagship registered-index-linked annuity product, Shield. This position supports the Liability Analysis and Services team and is responsible for production and analysis that informs hedging-related reporting, attribution, and strategy.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>In this role, you’ll get to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own the monthly production of asset results for variable annuities and Shield products in the PathWise environment; support the production of attribution results, sensitivity grids, and ad hoc runs.</li> <li>Conduct hedging analysis, including sensitivity testing, attribution, and forward-looking estimation for variable annuities and our flagship registered-index-linked annuity product, Shield.</li> <li>Identify, measure, and propose solutions to enhance hedge strategy; review hedge performance.</li> <li>Develop deep expertise in our asset and liability models; perform model updates, testing, review, and investigation as needed.</li> <li>Analyze drivers of results and communicate insights to management.</li> <li>Create and improve analytical tools and processes to enhance efficiency.</li> <li>Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain consistency in production processes and deliverable schedules, assumptions, and modeling methodologies; stay up to date on regulatory and reporting changes.</li> <li>Partner with the model development team to request, document, and approve model changes and to improve processes that enhance efficiency.</li> <li>Work with the Leader of Hedging Liability Analysis to prioritize, plan, and execute projects.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>We’re looking for people who have: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or Finance.</li> <li>Recently credentialed ASA or actively pursuing ASA completion.</li> <li>3 years of actuarial experience preferred.</li> <li>Variable Annuity and RILA product knowledge preferred.</li> <li>Asset modeling experience preferred.</li> <li>Computing and programming skills; Python preferred.</li> <li>Experience with SQL database queries preferred.</li> <li>Experience with actuarial modeling software; PathWise preferred.</li> <li>Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).</li> <li>Project management skills; detail- and process-oriented.</li> <li>Effective written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ability to adapt to changing business priorities and deadlines.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>What you’ll gain from the Brighthouse Actuarial Development Program:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with one of the largest annuity and life insurance providers in the U.S.</li> <li>Study materials, study time, and exam fees paid for by Brighthouse Financial.</li> <li>Direct exposure to leaders, mentors, and learning opportunities.</li> <li>24-month rotational work assignments to promote career growth.</li> <li>Automatic salary increases with each exam passed.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Research shows some people may not apply for a role if they don’t check all the boxes of a job description.
