Job Title: SPD Installation and Service Technician Mission: Our core mission is to deliver high-quality, dependable, and cost-effective pretreatment and chemical feed systems that require minimal installation time and technical expertise from both our sales team and customers. Our primary focus and revenue source lie in the sale of water treatment chemicals. Purpose of the Job: The primary goal of the Critical Water Technician is to provide basic start-up, installation and service of SPD critical water systems This role is crucial in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of water purification systems. Level of Authority: The Critical Water Technician works independently to oversee and execute the installation, commissioning, and start-up of critical water equipment for sterile processing departments. This includes: <ul> <li>Authorization to make real-time decisions regarding the setup, configuration, and operational adjustments of water purification systems to ensure they meet the required critical water standards.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Conducting comprehensive system checks, diagnostics, and performance validations to verify that all equipment operates correctly and efficiently.</li> <li>Authorization to collaborate with healthcare facility management, sterile processing teams, and equipment manufacturers to schedule, report issues, and make recommendations.</li> <li>Providing training and guidance to facility staff on the proper use and maintenance of critical water systems.</li> </ul> Work Environment: The Critical Water Technician operates primarily within healthcare facilities, focusing on sterile processing departments where critical water equipment is installed, commissioned, and started up. <ul> <li>Works in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, surgical centers, and clinics.</li> <li>Responsibilities are carried out in technical areas, including mechanical rooms, utility spaces, and sterile processing units. </li> <li>The technician may encounter diverse environmental conditions, including temperature-controlled areas and high-humidity environments, depending on the facility’s design and the nature of the equipment being serviced.</li> <li>Requires a significant amount of independent work. The technician must be self-sufficient in diagnosing issues, performing installations, and ensuring systems are fully operational.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">The position involves physical activities such as lifting heavy equipment, maneuvering in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods. </li> </ul> Work Hours: The Technician's work hours are generally aligned with the operational needs of healthcare facilities and the scheduling requirements for the installation, commissioning, and start-up of critical water equipment. Specifics include: <ul> <li>Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, flexibility is often required to accommodate the varying schedules and urgent needs of healthcare facilities including occasional weekend work. </li> <li>The technician may be required to participate in an on-call rotation for urgent repairs or troubleshooting outside of regular hours. This ensures that critical water systems can be addressed promptly if issues arise.</li> <li>Hours may vary depending on the complexity and scale of specific projects. During high-demand periods or large installations, additional hours or shift work may be necessary to meet project deadlines and operational needs.</li> </ul> Travel Requirements: The Technician is expected to travel as part of their responsibilities, including: <ul> <li>Primarily, travel will be within the region, but occasional trips outside the area may be necessary for assignments in different cities or states. Some assignments may require overnight stays.</li> <li>The frequency of travel will vary based on project schedules, facility locations, and service requirements. </li> <li>The technician must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation </li> </ul> Essential Job Functions: <ul> <li>Install, setup, and commission water purification equipment including water softeners, filtration, reverse osmosis (RO), deionization (DI), and critical water distribution systems.</li> <li>Interact professionally with clients and Chem-Aqua representatives to address concerns, provide technical advice, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the commissioning process.</li> <li>Perform testing, validation, and calibration of equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.</li> <li>Provide training on the proper operation and maintenance of water purification systems.</li> <li>Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to water purification systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation</li> <li>Provide ongoing support and preventive maintenance services to ensure optimal performance and longevity of installed equipment</li> <li>Adhere to strict health and safety protocols and practices while working on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.</li> </ul> Qualifications and Capabilities: <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or degree in engineering, water treatment, or a related field preferred.</li> <li>Proven experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of critical water purification systems.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>In-depth understanding of water purification systems, including Water Softeners, Filtration, Reverse Osmosis (RO), and Deionization (DI) systems.</li> <li>Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues related to water treatment equipment and systems.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare staff, facility management, and equipment manufacturers.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving abilities to address and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.</li> <li>Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to system installation, maintenance, and repair, including pressure gauges, multi-meters, and calibration tools.</li> </ul> Physical and Personal Attributes: <ul> <li>Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods</li> <li>Must have good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors</li> <li>Must have hearing sufficient to hear verbal and audible signals at a moderate distance.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Strong customer service skills to effectively manage client relationships, address concerns, and provide training and support to facility staff as needed.</li> </ul> <h2> </h2> <h2>The statements outlined in this job description reflect the principal functions of the job, level of knowledge, skill required and the scope of responsibility.
