This position requires the ability to work overtime and pass a 1G and/or a 2G Tig test on carbon steel 2” pipe. Chart’s welders play a key role in the manufacturing process of producing Air Cooled Heat Exchangers.</p> <p>We currently have the following welding roles and shifts available:</p> <p><strong>Fitter</strong></p> <p>This role is responsible for performing fitting and tack welding plate or nozzles together to form a header box. This role may also be responsible for fitting and welding the root pass on end plates to header boxes.</p> <p>Night Shift - 4</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><i><b>What Will You Do?</b></i></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Fits, Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques</li> <li>Ability to lay-out, burn holes, fit and weld nozzles</li> <li>Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process</li> <li>Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness</li> <li>Performs a variety of tasks</li> <li>Promotes and supports safety and production</li> <li>Makes quality visual U.T. and x-ray welds</li> <li>Operate overhead cranes</li> <li>General housekeeping of work station</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><i><b>Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…</b></i></H2> </div><div><p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Must be able to work inside and outside. Regular exposure to welding debris, heat, cold, dark and bright environments. </p> <p><br>REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) WHILE IN THE SHOPS</p> <p>Safety Glasses<br>Steel Toe Shoes<br>Ear Plugs<br>Gloves<br>Hard Hats<br>Face Shield (when needed/task specific)</p> <p><br><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <p>Walking<br>Standing<br>Using hands<br>Bending<br>Lifting up to 50lbs<br>Sitting</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><i><b>Your Experience Should Be...</b></i></H2> </div><div><p><strong>Minimum Experience:</strong></p> <p>1-3 years related experience</p> <p><strong>Skills Required (i.e. certifications, licenses, registrations, etc.):</strong></p> <p>May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty</p> <p><strong>REQUIREMENTS - MUST BE ABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and interpret shop drawings</li> <li>Ability to operate overhead-crane</li> <li>Demonstrate a high-regard for safety by following all safety rules and procedures and leveraging Stop Work Authority when necessary</li> <li>Familiarity with welding machines and hand tools</li> <li>Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field</li> <li>Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with quality an in an efficient manner</li> <li>Ability to work under general supervision</li> <li>Ability to work different shifts</li> <li>Ability to pass 1G and/or 2G Tig test on carbon steel 2” pipe preferred</li> <li>Ability and willingness to learn to operate basic cutting equipment</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li> <li>Possesses a positive attitude</li> </ul></div></div></div>
