Fosters the development of new manufacturing technologies, process / continuous improvement initiatives, new product ideas/concepts/designs, test &amp; validation and cost reduction programs for new and existing engine/product programs.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">You will do this by</H2> </div><div><ol> <li>Supports and guides product engineering teams in ongoing development within their assigned area</li> <li>Supervises and coordinates product research, testing, design and development if applicable</li> <li>Promotes the New Product Development process and ensures consistent use</li> <li>Interfaces with customers regarding part and product design, manufacturing and quality control issues, which fosters relationships</li> <li>Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements</li> <li>Reports regularly on project status, ensures budgets are on track, manages customer satisfaction data and other staff activities</li> <li>Develops and initiates new technologies, process improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs</li> <li>Proposes business solutions related to product safety initiatives, annual strategic/situational planning, long-term planning and supplier relationship agreements</li> <li>Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA, performance management, department budget</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned</li> </ol> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Qualifications</H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Bachelors in Engineering or related field</li> <li>Seven years of engineering experience</li> <li>Prior management or supervisory experience</li> <li>Demonstrates knowledge of engineering, testing and manufacturing processes related to product and/or manufacturing processes</li> <li>Ability to effectively solve problems with diverse groups of people</li> <li>Strong interpersonal, written communication and problem solving skills to effectively interface with engineers, managers and customers</li> <li>Well-developed leadership and planning skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously</li> <li>Fundamental knowledge of statistics and reliability concepts</li> <li>Strong team building skills</li> <li>Ability to develop and coordinate activities of others and to focus on major project resources to ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time, and on budget</li> <li>Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location</li> </ul></div></div></div><p><em>Briggs &amp; Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done.
