This new hire will work in the South Bend plant, located at 3425 Lathrop Street, South Bend, IN. The position title will report to a Production Team Manager. Hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift roles. All roles will train on 1st shift. Role Summary: <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Set up and start automatic filling and packaging equipment, load packaging and raw materials, and pack off finished product. </li> <li>Weigh, blend, and cook product on all mix systems. </li> <li>Follow detailed procedures and complete paperwork accurately to ensure safe, consistent, and quality product. </li> <li>Make product changeovers, package size changes, minor and major repairs on all equipment.</li> <li>Monitor operation of mixing equipment through visual checks of product and sensory evaluation of key component pieces.</li> <li>Assemble component pieces of equipment belonging to continuous and pre-mix systems and their auxiliary components.</li> <li>Document downtime and machine adjustments.</li> <li>Understand and practice loss control of raw and packaging materials.</li> <li>Work with Teams to identify process issues and improvement opportunities.</li> <li>Actively promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions using a principle-based safety approach.</li> <li>Be responsible for quality and quantity of production daily.</li> <li>Obtain and return ingredients using a forklift.</li> <li>Perform checks on critical timing of equipment.</li> <li>On-site attendance is required.</li> <li>OT as necessary to include weekends.</li> <li>Perform other duties as required.</li> </ul>McCormick & Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
