Requirements

As an M&A Business Development Analyst, you will work closely with senior members of the M&A team to support the acquisition pipeline, with a strong focus on market research, deal sourcing, and engaging potential acquisition targets. The role involves identifying and reaching out to vertical software companies, building relationships with founders and industry stakeholders, and helping develop a consistent pipeline of opportunities aligned with the firm’s investment strategy. You will also support opportunity evaluation through financial analysis, preparation of investment materials, and coordination of due diligence and transaction processes. This position requires strong commercial curiosity, proactive outreach skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and engage vertical market software companies and potential acquisition opportunities aligned with the company’s investment strategy.Execute proactive multi-channel outreach campaigns to engage founders and executives.Help maintain a consistent pipeline of potential acquisition targets.Conduct industry mapping, monitor market developments, competitor activity, and transaction trends to inform sourcing priorities.Prepare investment memos, management presentations, and supporting materials for leadership review.Build and maintain financial models including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and scenario analyses.Analyze historical financial statements, KPIs, customer metrics, and forecast assumptions.Conduct financial, commercial, and operational due diligence on potential acquisitions.Track pipeline activity, manage data rooms, and monitor transaction timelines.Maintain CRM data and internal acquisition tracking tools to support pipeline management.Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and best practices within the M&A function.

REQUIRED / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field2–3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, M&A, Private Equity, Consulting, or a similar analytical roleHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointStrong financial analysis, modeling, and valuation skills is a plusAbility to perform effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentExcellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyIntellectual curiosity about vertical market software businesses and long-term investingStrong written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a strong plusStrong commercial mindset and interest in understanding how software businesses operate and grow

ADDITIONAL / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on experience with financial modeling, including DCF, comparables, and sensitivity analysis Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) Understanding of SaaS metrics and software-focused due diligence processes Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities Interest in long-term career development within M&A, corporate development, or strategic financeCommercial curiosity and interest in understanding how software businesses operate and grow
