<div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Job Overview</b></H2> </div><div><p>The Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures proper operation and maintenance of building utilities including steam generation, ammonia refrigeration, plumbing, compressed air, hydraulics, low pressure blowers, HVAC, wastewater pre-treatment and other building systems critical to operation of the facility as well as production equipment maintenance and repair as needed. </p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Job Responsibilities</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment (compressors, condensers, and pumps) to ensure safe and effective performance of the system.<br>Install, inspect, and repair mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, filling and processing equipment tied to the ammonia and related cooling systems.</li> <li>Operate and maintain steam boilers, assisting with annual boiler inspection and certification.</li> <li>Operate and maintain air compressors and plant compressed air system.</li> <li>Operate and maintain equipment associated with the wastewater pre-treatment plant, including WWTP chemicals.</li> <li>Perform preventative maintenance procedures on all building utilities and plant equipment, including ammonia and boiler systems. Accurately document daily rounds and PM’s completed.</li> <li>Work closely with vendors and contractors to conduct repairs and periodic inspections.</li> <li>Work closely with EHS to document required periodic inspections of the facility, equipment and grounds.</li> <li>Change filters on HVAC equipment, air compressors, hydraulic system, product blowers, etc.</li> <li>Work varying hours during planned projects and outages.</li> <li>All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.</li> <li>All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.</li> <li>Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor/manager.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Required Education and Experience</b></H2> </div><div><p>• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or commensurate experience. <br>• 5 years of utilities maintenance experience and/or training or more.<br>• Understanding of manufacturing processes. <br>• Ability to make decisions based on standard practices and operating procedures. <br>• Ability to pass a respiratory medical evaluation per OSHA requirements and work while wearing an air purifying respirator. <br>• Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and refrigeration systems.<br>• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.<br>• Basic computer skills.<br> </p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Preferred Education and Experience</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>3 years of Ammonia refrigeration systems / PSM experience</li> <li>3 years of food facilities maintenance experience or more</li> <li>1 year Waste Water treatment experience</li> <li>Steam boiler operation experienceAssociates degree in a technical field</li> <li>SAP experience</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Working Conditions</b></H2> </div><div><div>• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.</div><div>• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.</div><div>• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.</div><div>• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.</div></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>EEOC &amp; Disclaimer</b></H2> </div><div><div>Great Lakes Cheese is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.</div></div></div></div>
