AmegA Sciences is seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our facilities, services, and equipment.</p> <p> </p> <p>Working as part of a collaborative maintenance team, you will support both AmegA Sciences and Lawford Heath, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities across production and facility environments. The role is fully site-based and offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>The Responsibilities</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>As a Maintenance Operative, your responsibilities will include:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Planned & Preventative Maintenance (PPM / TPM) <ul> <li>Carry out scheduled planned maintenance activities to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.</li> <li>Proactively identify potential faults and implement corrective actions.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Maintenance & Repair Activities <ul> <li>Undertake mechanical and facility-related maintenance within your competency, including: </li> <li>Pneumatics and compressed air systems</li> <li>Belts, pulleys, and gears</li> <li>Motor replacement works</li> <li>Pipe fitting, replacement, and general plumbing</li> <li>Production equipment including automated filling lines and mixing tanks</li> <li>Basic electrical maintenance</li> <li>Racking and general construction/fabrication tasks</li> </ul> </li> <li>Alarm Monitoring & Testing<br> <ul> <li>Perform on-site alarm testing and monitoring (no remote monitoring).</li> </ul> </li> <li>Facilities & Site Works<br> <ul> <li>Carry out general facility maintenance works across the site to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Contractor Management<br> <ul> <li>Liaise with and supervise external contractors, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to the required standard.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Improvement Projects<br> <ul> <li>Identify improvement opportunities and support the design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of maintenance or facility improvement projects.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Safety & Compliance <ul> <li>Actively participate in health and safety activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Support hazard identification, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Equipment & Inventory Management <ul> <li>Conduct daily and weekly equipment inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records and check sheets.</li> <li>Assist with maintenance stock control, ordering spare parts, and sourcing supplier quotations.</li> </ul> </li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"></H2> </div><div><p><strong>The Requirements</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>To be successful in this role, you will have:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>A recognised maintenance qualification or completed apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.</li> <li>IOSH Managing Safely certificate (ideal).</li> <li>Proven experience in mechanical and/or facilities maintenance within an industrial or production environment.</li> <li>Working knowledge of pneumatics, motors, pipework, belts, and general plant equipment.</li> <li>A strong awareness of health, safety, and risk management, with a general safety certificate (or equivalent).</li> <li>The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing tasks independently.</li> <li>Strong decision-making skills with a proactive approach to fault finding and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Good communication skills, with the ability to support business and departmental objectives.</li> </ul></div></div></div>
