This role is essential to maintaining mechanical integrity, reliability, and safe operation of critical terminal assets in a demanding coastal bulk handling environment. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability and operational performance.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>The Key Responsibilities </strong></p> <p> </p> <p><em>Safety & Compliance </em><br>• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. </p> <p><em>Maintenance & Operations </em><br>• Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment across the terminal.<br>• Carry out repairs on conveyors, chutes, hoppers, ship loading, and rail unloading equipment. <br>• Install, assemble, align, and test mechanical systems and components. <br>• Diagnose faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimise downtime. </p> <p><em>Teamwork & Communication </em><br>• Work collaboratively with engineers and supervisors to resolve issues. <br>• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. <br>• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports. </p> <p><em>Problem Solving & Decision Making </em><br>• Diagnose faults and take appropriate corrective action to minimise disruption. <br>• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Resource Use </strong><br>• Ensure efficient use of tools, equipment, and materials during maintenance and repair activities. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>The Requirements</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>• Time served Mechanical Fitter with proven experience in an industrial environment.<br>• NVQ Level 3 / C&G Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification, or equivalent.<br>• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.<br>• Risk Assessment trained and IOSH Working Safely certified.<br>• Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices.<br>• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<br>• Flexible, proactive, and safety-focused approach.</p> <p> </p></div></div></div>
