<p>KWS is a leading international plant breeding company dedicated to improving crop yield, resilience, and sustainability. To further develop our Oilseed Rape (OSR) breeding program, we are seeking a motivated and well-organized <strong>Assistant Breeder (m/w/d) </strong>to contribute to the planning, coordination, and evaluation of multi-location breeding trials. </p> <p>This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient trial execution, high-quality phenotypic data generation, and smooth collaboration across breeding services, breeding technologies, and operational teams. </p> <p>This position is to be filled on a permanent basis, full-time and located in Einbeck (Lower-Saxony). </p> <p><strong>Your Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan, coordinate, and execute yield and nursery trials, including sowing and harvesting activities using KWS’ in-house software. </li> <li>Design and continuously optimize the internal yield trials testing network based on phenotypic data quality, predictive performance, and official trial requirements. </li> <li>Ensure timely, complete, and error-free collection, upload, and analysis of phenotypic data across multiple trial locations and environments. </li> <li>Conduct preliminary data analyses to support rapid decision-making, seasonal planning, and ensure data readiness for downstream processes. </li> <li>Maintain accurate documentation of all field-, greenhouse-, data-, and application-related activities, ensuring traceability and data integrity in centralized systems. </li> <li>Collaborate closely with breeding services and greenhouse teams to coordinate production, sampling, and operational workflows. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Your Profile: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Master’s degree in plant breeding, plant genetics, agronomy, or a closely related discipline with a solid understanding of plant breeding principles, quantitative genetics, and statistics. </li> <li>Strong organizational and time‑management skills combined with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You are able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within diverse, cross‑-functional teams. </li> <li>Fluency in <strong>English and German </strong>is mandatory.
