<p>AVL Test Systems Inc offers a job in the United States (US) as</p> <h1 style="line-height:35.0pt"><b>Field Installation and Service Technician</b></h1> <h2 style="line-height:26.0pt"></h2> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><div>AVL Test Systems, Inc. is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Field Service Installation & Support Technician to deliver high-quality installation, commissioning, and support for advanced AVL hardware and software systems. In this hands-on role, you will manage on-site activities including system setup, configuration, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cutting-edge test automation and test bed equipment, while ensuring a professional and positive customer experience. The ideal candidate has experience with wire termination and soldering, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments. A high level of travel flexibility is required, with up to 90% travel, offering the opportunity to work with diverse customers and technologies across various locations.</div> <p><strong>Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.</strong></p> <p> </p> </p> <p> </p> <p><p><strong><u>Roles:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Act as Liaison and company representative with customers. Represent AVL with the highest level of professionalism.</li> <li>Overall installation leader, working alone, or with skilled trades to complete Mechanical and electrical installation in an on time every time fashion</li> <li>Install and support mechanical and electrical installation and termination of field wiring and pneumatic/hydraulic systems. Verify against drawing</li> <li>Power up / troubleshoot equipment</li> <li>Final electrical quality inspection of equipment</li> <li>Initial system checks in preparation for commissioning.</li> <li>Document discrepancies and feed back to engineering</li> <li>Troubleshoot and repair products and systems to AVL specifications following defined processes.</li> <li>Professional and timely completion of service progress reports, expense reports and other administrative responsibilities as required.</li> <li>Actively participate in developing one’s own training plan and exhibits ownership in completing training towards realization of selected diplomas and competency.</li> <li>Provide feedback and improvement suggestions on troubleshooting guides and continuous improvement methods to increase operating equipment effectiveness (O.E.E.).</li> <li>Perform in-house repair, postproduction operation tests of new equipment as required.</li> <li>Perform manufacturing shop floor tasks as assigned by manager.</li> <li>Maintain a safe and clean work area in accordance with 5S standards.</li> <li>The ability to communicate with customers in a professional way and in the ability to independently describe, categorize, analyze and solve service requests and issues.</li> <li>Ability to present informal operator instruction on AVL products and test systems</li> <li>Timely follow up on items and the ability to drive issues to closure.</li> <li>Maintains assigned calibration equipment.</li> <li>Complete all applicable safety training.</li> </ul> </p> <p> </p> <p><p><strong><u>Qualifications/Skills:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate’s degree in engineering or equivalent trade school</li> <li>Experienced reading / interpreting USA ladder and European IEC book prints</li> <li>2+ years’ experience with test automation equipment and test bed operations</li> <li>Leadership/ coordinator experience</li> <li>Understanding of electrical and mechanical processes</li> <li>Knowledge of complete test cell operation and its contents is a bonus</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>The ability to cope with negative feedback from customers, exhibit patience and possess excellent listening skills</li> <li>Able to read / understand control circuits.
