Our products are used across defence, uncrewed systems, government, and broadcast markets.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to play a key role in the design and development of advanced wireless communication systems.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of complex electronic designs, contribute to product architecture, and provide technical leadership across a range of cutting-edge projects.</p> <p> </p> <p>Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and requirements capture through to design, verification, production, and customer support.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>You will:</strong></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Architect and design high-speed digital, analogue, and mixed-signal electronic systems<br><br></li> <li>Develop schematic designs, PCB layouts, and design verification plans<br><br></li> <li>Lead technical design reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers<br><br></li> <li>Support the delivery of customer-funded development projects alongside Project Managers and wider business teams<br><br></li> <li>Contribute to new product architectures, concept development, simulation, and prototyping<br><br></li> <li>Collaborate closely with software, FPGA, RF, systems, and project teams<br><br></li> <li>Support manufacturing teams with product introduction, testing, and production documentation<br><br></li> <li>Provide technical support for customer demonstrations, bids, and proposals<br><br></li> <li>Research emerging technologies and contribute to future product and technology roadmaps</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Essential:</strong></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Strong experience designing complex digital, analogue, and mixed-signal electronic systems<br><br></li> <li>Experience designing high-speed multilayer PCBs using industry-standard ECAD tools such as Altium, PADS, or Xpedition<br><br></li> <li>Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, SATA, PCIe, HDMI, or DDR memory systems<br><br></li> <li>Experience designing CPU and FPGA-based systems<br><br></li> <li>Strong understanding of switched-mode power supplies, low-noise power design, and design for EMC compliance<br><br></li> <li>Hands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging, validation, and fault finding<br><br></li> <li>Experience using high-speed oscilloscopes, protocol analysers, and other electronic test equipment<br><br></li> <li>Strong understanding of design for manufacture and design for test principles<br><br></li> <li>Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Experience designing with FPGAs<br><br></li> <li>Knowledge of RF systems and wireless communications<br><br></li> <li>Experience with thermal management and low-power electronic design<br><br></li> <li>Experience of cable and wiring loom design<br><br></li> <li>Exposure to Python, C, or VHDL for hardware validation activities<br><br></li> <li>Knowledge of EMC, ESD, and regulatory compliance testing<br><br></li> <li>Experience working within defence, telecommunications, broadcast, or other high-reliability industries</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Why Join DTC</strong></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Work on cutting-edge technology at the limits of what’s possible<br><br></li> <li>Own your work from design through to delivery<br><br></li> <li>Be part of a highly skilled, collaborative engineering team<br><br></li> <li>Flexible working, competitive salary, and strong benefits package<br><br></li> <li>Ongoing training and development, including exposure to new technologies</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Successful applicants will need to be eligible for Security Clearance.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Interested in a career with DTC?
