This role would be responsible for ensuring the quality, cost-effectiveness, efficiency & timeliness of firmware designs and development deliverables for the respective projects and thereby ensuring the success of the overall project. Technically mentoring the team, coordinating the domain related activity.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Areas of Responsibility / Tasks:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain firmware for embedded Linux systems using C/C++</li> <li>Ensure code quality, performance, and compliance with real-time system constraints.</li> <li>Integrate kernel modules and configure hardware interfaces as per product requirements.</li> <li>Manage and configure build systems using <strong>Buildroot</strong>, <strong>Yocto</strong>, or similar tools.</li> <li>Collaborate with DevOps teams to maintain CI/CD pipelines using <strong>Jenkins</strong> or other automation tools.</li> <li>Conduct low-level debugging using tools like GDB, JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.</li> <li>Analyze logs and system traces to resolve firmware issues across various layers (bootloader, kernel, user space).</li> <li>Profile and optimize firmware for memory usage, boot time, and CPU performance.</li> <li>Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and ensure stable and reliable firmware operation in production environments.</li> <li>Document, train and support operations and project teams, sound knowledge in communication and aspects of respective domain</li> <li>Ability to plan, manage and deliver projects on-time with the agreed quality and cost.</li> <li>Ability to interact with the Global teams, Ability to work cross-functionally with both internal and external teams as well as with functional business leaders. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Desired Skills/Competencies</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Embedded Linux Firmware development. Proficient in Programming in C, C++ on embedded systems and strong familiarity with real time principles. </li> <li>Experience with Linux device drivers and Linux Kernel is a plus.</li> <li>Python and/or Java programming a plus (Java most preferred).</li> <li>Deep Knowledge of Product Life Cycle and Software Development methodologies. Knowledge of Git, Buildroot, and/or Jenkins CI/CD is a plus.</li> <li>Significant experience with development and debugging tools in embedded systems.</li> <li>Knowledge of IP Networking principles (IPV6 knowledge preferred)</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Behavioral Competencies</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communications skills</li> <li>Highly driven, positive attitude, team player, self-learning, self-motivating and flexibility</li> <li>Strong customer focus</li> <li>Flair for creativity and innovation</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Qualifications and Additional Requirements</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Relevant tertiary qualification - B. E, B. Tech, M. E, M.
