Responsibilities Design new manufacturing processes for the plants to be built, ensuring their future operation is safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly. To do so, you will: <ul> <li>Gather key design data from all relevant departments.</li> <li>Perform mass and energy balances.</li> <li>Prepare the P&IDs</li> <li>Conduct the technical-economic feasibility study</li> <li>Lead risk analyses from the perspective of industrial and food safety</li> <li>Define the control strategy</li> <li>Define the production schedule</li> <li>Prepare process documentation</li> <li>Identify critical control points</li> <li>Prepare the SOPs.</li> <li>Train staff</li> <li>Estimate operating and investment costs.</li> <li>Define the main process equipment.</li> <li>Define materials in accordance with the process and required quality.</li> <li>Define and evaluate pilot tests.</li> <li>Lead commissioning activities</li> </ul> Education <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering / Chemical Engineering</li> <li>Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred)</li> </ul> Skills <ul> <li>In-depth knowledge of the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.</li> <li>Knowledge of biotechnological processes</li> <li>Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines in the field of facility safety and environmental protection</li> <li>Technical expertise in batch and continuous processes</li> <li>Strong conflict management skills.</li> <li>Excellence in technical problem-solving.</li> <li>Knowledge of SAP.</li> <li>Very good knowledge of Spanish and English</li> <li>Proficiency in process simulation tools.</li> <li>Expertise in energy efficiency and carbon footprint.</li> </ul> Experience <ul> <li>Several years of professional experience as a process engineer in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry</li> <li>Experience in process optimization.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li> <li>Experience as a Project Manager on projects in the range of 1 million euros is a plus.</li> </ul> Special Skills <ul> <li>Safety-first mindset.</li> <li>Entrepreneurial mindset and approach.</li> <li>Cost-consciousness, striving to find optimal technical solutions.</li> <li>Persuasiveness, ability to motivate, and decisiveness.</li> <li>Creativity, flexibility, and resilience.</li> </ul> You can find an overview of benefits at WACKER on our careers page.
