The Role As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be part of the Land Installation team where you will work within the Site team supporting trails and ensuring the safety of the site. Day-to-day, you’ll take part in trails as part of a team and a larger QinetiQ team operating installation equipment with the opportunities to learn new skills along the way. Your responsibilities will include: <ul> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Setting up and preparing ranges in accordance with the relevant documentation</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Ensuring robust application of Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and processes</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Carrying out duties in a safe compliant manner</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Ensuring compliance with Risk Assessments and Task instructions</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Carrying out general duties as a QinetiQ member of staff</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Maintaining core module skills and training (manual handling etc)</li> </ul> Essential experience of the Instrumentation Technician: <ul> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Proven ability to solve problems</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Good understanding of Health and Safety</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">The ability to work to set processes</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Poven experience working as part of a team and working independently where appropriate</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Hands-on experience with work equipment and hand tools</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">The ability to be Computer/IT Literate is essential</li> </ul> Essential qualifications for the Instrumentation Technician: <ul> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Full UK Driving licence</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Good standard of GCSE-level mathematics</li> </ul> We value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. This role is 37 hours per week based at our Shoeburyness site and is fully on-site. Shoeburyness QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a significant test and evaluation facility specialising in defence and security technologies. The site is focused on Environmental Testing including the evaluation of various ordnance, explosives and related systems.
