The Role As an OME Supervisor, you will become an integral member of the Defence and Safety function, providing leadership and oversight in relation to areas of the Maritime & Land Business that transcend the business units. Day-to-day, you will have a range of activities to manage, from staff development, stocktaking, H&S training and managing hazardous materials and the disposal of. Your responsibilities will include: <ul style="margin-top:0.0cm;margin-bottom:0.0cm" type="disc"> <li style="color:black;margin-bottom:0.0cm;background-color:white;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Ensure that all Hazardous Activities within your control are conducted in accordance with Internal and external legislation</li> <li style="color:black;margin-bottom:0.0cm;background-color:white;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Conduct munitions disposal tasks when required, in accordance with the relevant process instruction</li> <li style="color:black;margin-bottom:0.0cm;background-color:white;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Provide leadership, ensure the availability of competent staff and ensure that the appropriate level of supervision is applied to all tasks</li> <li style="color:black;margin-bottom:0.0cm;background-color:white;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Maintain QinetiQ Munitions Accounting System (QMAS) proficiency, providing cover when required</li> </ul> Essential experience of the OME Supervisor: <ul style="margin-top:0.0cm;margin-bottom:0.0cm" type="disc"> <li style="color:black;margin-bottom:0.0cm;background-color:white;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Relevant Ordnance Munitions and Explosives experience (ESA NOS)</li> <li style="color:black;margin-bottom:0.0cm;background-color:white;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Leadership and managerial skills essential</li> </ul> Essential qualifications for the OME Supervisor: <ul> <li style="font-size:14.0pt">GCSE or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science, such as Physics</li> <li>Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background</li> <li>Knowledge of ER14/DSA 03 and safe systems of work</li> </ul> We value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.
