The Role As an Operational Analysis Consultant, you will deliver impactful analysis that informs critical defence decisions by leading a variety of programmes that are largely in support of research themes and procurement projects. Day-to-day, you’ll engage directly with clients to understand complex problems, design and apply analytical approaches, and deliver robust evidence and insight to support decision-making across defence and beyond. Your responsibilities will include: <ul> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Engaging with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Developing and delivering operational analysis, modelling and evidence-based insights</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Conducting options analysis including techniques such as MCDA and cost-effectiveness appraisal</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Leading and contributing to business development and bid activity</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Facilitating workshops and presenting findings to senior decision-makers</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Mentoring and supporting junior team members</li> </ul> Essential experience of the Operational Analysis Consultant: <ul> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Strong background in operational analysis / operational research and analytical problem-solving</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Ability to apply both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques (e.g. modelling, simulation, optimisation)</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Experience engaging stakeholders and translating requirements into analytical approaches</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Demonstrable experience presenting insights and influencing decision-makers</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Experience using analytical tools or programming languages (e.g. Python, MATLAB, R) to develop models and generate evidence-based insights</li> </ul> Essential qualifications for the Operational Analysis Consultant: <ul> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Degree in a STEM discipline (e.g. mathematics, physics, engineering or similar)</li> <li style="line-height:normal;font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Membership (or working towards) a professional body such as the Operational Research Society or IMA</li> </ul> We value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. This role is 37 hours per week based at any of our main UK locations with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
