We are looking for a motivated Core Platforms Engineering Team Lead (m/f/d) to play a key role in our newly established SAP & Digital Center in Madrid. In this role, you will lead the Core Platforms function, ensuring the stability, scalability, and governance of Liebherr’s enterprise technology landscape. You will oversee key platforms including SAP S/4HANA and Microsoft Azure (supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Field Service), as well as critical cross-functional capabilities such as testing platforms, change and release management, and authorization management. You will lead a team of platform experts and technical architects, ensuring that the foundation of our transformation programs is robust, secure, and aligned with global standards. You will work closely with Delivery, Development and Integration teams to enable efficient rollouts while maintaining platform integrity. <h2 class="rmk-responsibilites-header">Creating passion: your responsibilities</h2> <div class="rmk-resposibilities-content"><ul> <li>Own and manage Liebherr’s core platforms, including the SAP S/4HANA landscape and Azure-based environments supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring stability, scalability, performance, and security.</li> <li>Define and enforce platform standards, governance frameworks, and best practices, ensuring alignment with Liebherr’s global architecture and transformation programs.</li> <li>Lead and develop a team of platform specialists and technical architects across SAP, Azure, testing, release management, and authorization domains, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.</li> <li>Oversee change and release management processes, ensuring controlled, high-quality, and timely deployments across systems and landscapes.</li> <li>Ensure the availability and proper operation of testing environments, supporting integration testing, user acceptance testing, and overall delivery readiness.</li> <li>Drive robust authorization and access management practices, ensuring compliance with security standards and audit requirements.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Development & Integration teams, Solution Architects, consultants and program leadership to ensure alignment between platform capabilities and delivery needs.</li> <li>Manage external partners and service providers, ensuring service quality, performance, and alignment with Liebherr standards.</li> <li>Monitor platform performance, risks, and dependencies, proactively identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring continuous optimization.</li> <li>Support transformation programs (S/4HANA, Dynamics 365, SAP MDG) by providing a stable and scalable platform foundation aligned with business and IT requirements.</li> <li>Travel (up to 30%) to Liebherr sites worldwide to support platform alignment and transformation activities.</li> </ul></div> <h2 class="rmk-qualification-header">Contributing your strengths: your qualifications</h2> <div class="rmk-qualification-content"><ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.</li> <li>10+ years of experience in SAP and enterprise platform environments, including strong exposure to SAP S/4HANA landscapes.</li> <li>Proven experience leading platform, infrastructure, or technical operations teams in complex, multinational environments.</li> <li>Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA landscape architecture, including system environments, transport management, and platform operations (e.g., SAP Basis concepts).</li> <li>Solid knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and their role in supporting enterprise applications such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.</li> <li>Experience with change and release management processes, testing lifecycle management, and authorization concepts within large-scale system landscapes.</li> <li>Proven ability to operate in large transformation programs, understanding the interaction between platforms, development, integration, and business processes.</li> <li>Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build, develop, and guide high-performing, cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences and align across multiple domains.</li> <li>Experience working with external partners and managing service delivery in a structured and performance-driven manner.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured, pragmatic, and results-oriented mindset.</li> <li>Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Cloud ALM is a plus.</li> <li>Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages (e.g., German) are an advantage.</li> <li>Willingness to travel internationally (up to 30%) as required by project work.</li> </ul></div> <h2 class="rmk-our-offer-header">Our commitment to you: your benefits</h2> <div class="rmk-our-offer-content">At Liebherr, we believe people are at the heart of our success.
