POSITION SUMMARY: The MRB / IQC Engineer is responsible for managing and reducing MRB (Material Review Board) inventory through effective coordination with cross-functional teams. This role focuses on driving timely disposition of non-conforming materials, ensuring material availability to support production, and leading improvement initiatives to address recurring quality issues. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. MRB Management & Inventory Clearance <ol style="list-style-type:lower-alpha"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Drive timely disposition and clearance of MRB inventory to minimize aging and excess stock.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Coordinate with relevant stakeholders (Engineering, Production, Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Warehouse) to resolve non-conforming materials.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Monitor MRB aging reports and escalate critical issues impacting production.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of MRB transactions.</li> </ol> 2. Incoming Quality Control (IQC) <ol style="list-style-type:lower-alpha"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Oversee incoming inspection activities to ensure materials meet quality standards.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Support purge and re-screening activities, ensuring proper execution and timely completion.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Drive investigation on highest rejection rates identified during purge/re-screen processes and lead root cause analysis.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Support urgent material inspection and release to meet production requirements.</li> </ol> 3. Cross-functional Coordination <ol style="list-style-type:lower-alpha"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Act as the key interface between IQC, Engineering, Production, and Suppliers for MRB-related issues.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Expedite decision-making for material disposition (use-as-is, rework, return,scrap).</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Support urgent build requirements by prioritizing critical material disposition.</li> </ol> 4. Non-Conformance Management & Improvement <ol style="list-style-type:lower-alpha"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Chair or lead discussions on top non-conforming materials and drive corrective preventive actions (CAPA). </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Analyze quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and root causes. </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to implement improvement actions. </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Track effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure closure of quality issues.</li> </ol> 5. Process & Compliance <ol style="list-style-type:lower-alpha"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and customer requirements.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Maintain proper records and reports for audits and internal reviews.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Continuously improve MRB and IQC processes for efficiency and effectiveness.</li> </ol> WORK ENVIRONMENT： <ul> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Works in a ESD compliance IQC lab environment. </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Overtime may be necessary in times to meet target set.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Regular travelling required to oversee IQC operation at variety location.</li> </ul> QUALIFICATIONS: <ul> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Strong understanding of incoming quality control processes, inspection methods, and sampling plans.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Familiar with non-conformance management systems (NCMR/MRB processes).</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 8D Problem Solving, 5 Why Analysis,Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagram or Pareto Analysis</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to root cause analysis.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple urgent issues in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Proactive in driving continuous improvement initiatives and reducing recurring defects.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Solid understanding of ISO 9001 ,ISO 14001, UL, TUV.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Strong sense of ownership and accountability in driving material disposition and issue closure.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Ability to lead discussions and chair meetings related to non-conformance and improvement actions.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Good decision-making skills under pressure, especially for urgent material release.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">PC skills, can properly make routing report with MS office tools (With advance MS office skill will be added advantage).</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Have good team work spirit.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Good communication and coordination skills across multiple functions.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Ability to work under pressure and manage urgent priorities.</li> </ul> EXPERIENCE: <ul> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a team of IQC inspectors or technicians.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Minimum 5 year of electronic product manufacturing quality inspection experiences.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in IQC / MRB / Quality Engineering in manufacturing environment.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Proven experience in handling MRB inventory management, disposition processes, and non-conformance control.</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;color:black">Experience in purge and re-screening activities, including driving investigations on high rejection rates.</li> </ul> EDUCATION: Essential: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial) or aelated technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
