Position Summary Sr Thermal Engineer will be involved in simulating and analyzing thermal aspects of the next generation of devices. Candidate will get a chance to work on a variety of the latest technologies and deliver products for industrial applications. Candidate will provide thermal design solutions for many varying low/high voltage power supplies with both natural and forced convection cooling methods. Candidate must have relevant experience in thermal design for electronic products Job Responsibilities: <ul style="margin-top:2.0px"> <li>Perform thermal design of electronic products:</li> </ul> <ul> <li style="list-style-type:none"> <ul style="list-style-type:circle;margin-top:1.0px"> <li>Provide thermal solutions for forced air cooled and natural convection cooled products.</li> <li>Use CAD software such as Creo to build assembly models for thermal simulations.</li> <li>Use flotherm software to obtain simulation results. Apply heat-transfer fundamentals to resolve thermal issues.</li> <li>Measure actual airflow, acoustic and thermal characteristics using laboratory facilities.</li> <li>Prepare engineering reports for thermal, airflow, acoustic simulation/measurements.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Identify feasible thermal architectures and mature designs through conceptual preliminary and detailed design phrased using practical passive and active thermal control techniques.</li> <li>Perform thermal analysis to varying degrees of fidelity (simplified to detailed) on a variety of different types of hardware such as propulsion components, high powered electronics, RF components, and printed circuit boards (PCBs).</li> <li>Perform liquid cool system design and analysis ( cold plates, liquid cool busbars, manifolds, system level thermal solutions)</li> <li>Assist in thermal verification testing and resolve any issues resulting from simulation results and lab testing.</li> <li>Develop CAD/thermal library of components of commonly used parts such as connectors, thermal interface parts, fans, blowers, heat-sinks.</li> <li>Generate thermal simulation/validation reports to share with project teams and management.</li> <li>Develop creative engineering solutions to meet product requirements.</li> <li>Research, implement and demonstrate proof-of-concept applications.</li> <li>Collaborate with Cross Functional teams of Product Management, Electrical, Firmware, and mechanical design.</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul style="margin-top:18.0px"> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering</li> <li>8+ years of experience in thermal/mechanical role</li> <li>Experience in thermal analysis and thermally constrained design; computational thermal design experience (finite methods) is not required but highly preferred.</li> <li>3D CAD experience (Creo preferred)</li> <li>Good in Hand calculations</li> <li>Good in Basic Physics and fundamentals</li> <li>Strong Analytical skills</li> <li>Must have strong written and verbal communication skills as will be working with cross functional teams</li> <li>Must possess strong problem-solving skills</li> <li>Operate autonomously with minimum direction</li> <li>Must be a self-starter with the ability to master new technology concepts quickly</li> </ul> <div style="margin-left:29.0px;text-align:left;text-indent:0.31in"> </div> <div style="margin-left:29.0px;text-align:left;text-indent:0.31in"> As part of our total rewards philosophy, we believe in offering and maintaining competitive compensation and benefits programs for our employees in order to attract and retain a talented, highly engaged workforce.
