At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world. <div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Job Overview</b></H2> </div><div><p>Sr. R&D Product Development Engineering is responsible to develop for new products and product ownership of complex sub system product line.</p> <p>Leads small and medium sized projects and develops product families.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>KEY RESPONSBILTIES:</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Lead end to end Product Development and Product Design initiatives from Voice of Customer (VOC) through product end of life, ensuring alignment with business and customer objectives. <br>• Serve as technical owner for complex NPI and sustaining programs, driving design strategy, execution rigor, and engineering excellence. <br>• Translate customer, market, and system level requirements into robust product concepts, detailed specifications, and production ready designs. <br>• Own product design release including 3D CAD models, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation. <br>• Maintain a system level understanding of customer applications, high speed connector and cable assembly architectures, and usage within server and storage data communication systems. <br>• Define test procedures based on requirements and/or customers or internal l/external specifications, assess results and provide conclusions<br>• Ensure product manufacturability - Define dimensions, tolerances & special characteristics based on customer requirements, intended application, best practices and experience<br>• Apply six sigma, reliability, and quality methodologies across design, development, validation, and launch to ensure high product performance and robustness.e.g.DFMEA/RCA<br>• Act as key technical interface to customers, Sales, PM, SA/FAE, and Operations, ensuring accurate VOC capture, clear requirements, and strong technical proposals. <br>• Lead design reviews, feasibility studies, tolerance analysis, and mechanical/thermal simulations to mitigate technical risk early in development. <br>• Responsible for VA/VE execution and opportunity identification<br>• Collaborate with global manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, and technology centers to meet technical, quality, cost, and delivery objectives. <br>• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for customers, plant teams, and global operations, including testing, failure analysis, and corrective validation. <br>• Introduce breakthrough engineering solutions and new technologies in partnership with customers and TE global competency centers to accelerate revenue growth. <br>• Leverage expertise in Molding/Stamping/plating technologies and contact physics to strengthen product differentiation. <br>• Contribute as a technical leader and mentor, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and strengthening organizational engineering capability</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">DESIRED SKILLS:</H2> </div><div><p>• B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree is a plus.<br>• Min 8 years of experience with high volume mfg. environment (Plastic components mfg. experience is a plus)<br>• Working knowledge of CAD software (Creo or similar)<br>• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Methodology and tools, such as DFSS, FTA, graphical analysis, hypothesis testing etc.<br>• Knowledge on connectors products or applications will be advantage. <br>• Knowledge of Global Certifications and Regulatory Standards (UL, IEC, MIL etc.); Familiarity with IATF/ATEX etc</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What your background should look like</b></H2> </div><div><p>Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional level experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level</p> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Competencies</b></H2> </div><div><div>SET : Strategy, Execution, Talent (for managers)</div></div></div></div>
