From preventative maintenance and diagnostics to complex repairs, you’ll use your technical expertise to support uptime, equipment reliability, and safe mill operations. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Elko, BC. The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada. What you will do as a Heavy Duty Mechanic: <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="background-color:white;margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;margin-left:0.0px">Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;margin-left:0.0px">Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical knowledge to identify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues and determine appropriate repairs.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;margin-left:0.0px">Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and component replacements to support equipment reliability and reduce downtime.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;margin-left:0.0px">Follow all company safety standards, regulatory requirements, lockout procedures, and safe work practices while working in an industrial environment.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;margin-left:0.0px">Complete work orders, maintenance records, parts requests, and related documentation accurately and on time.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;margin-left:0.0px">Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring equipment issues and recommending practical reliability improvements.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin-right:0.0in;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;margin-left:0.0px">Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations to keep the sawmill running safely and efficiently.</li> </ul> For this role, come equipped with: <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="background-color:white;margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification or an Interprovincial/Provincial Certificate of Qualification; equivalent Canadian trade certification may be considered.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Previous experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty mobile equipment in an industrial, forestry, mining, construction, transportation, or manufacturing environment.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Strong troubleshooting skills with practical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, drivetrains, electrical systems, and computerized diagnostic tools.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">A strong commitment to safety, including the ability to follow lockout procedures, safe work practices, and regulatory requirements in a mill environment.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">A valid driver’s licence, the physical ability to perform the full scope of the role, and the flexibility to support overtime or shift coverage when required.</li> <li style="background-color:white;margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Experience in a sawmill, lumber manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment is considered an asset.</li> </ul> If you’re ready to put your skills to work in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment, we’d love to hear from you.
