This role is a full-time rotating, weekday schedule (1 week of days, 1 weeks of nights) with a minimum of 40 hours per week. This position can be based out of Whitecourt, or Fox Creek. As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include: <ul style="list-style-type:disc" type="disc"> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and control panels within the mill.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Diagnose and repair electrical issues in machinery, sensors, transmitters, and other equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Program, troubleshoot, and optimize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control systems to enhance efficiency and precision in the mill processes.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with electrical systems.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Identify and address electrical safety hazards within the mill environment to maintain a safe working atmosphere.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns to minimize downtime.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Prioritize and address critical electrical issues to ensure the continuous operation of sawmill equipment.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Collaborate with other maintenance and operations personnel to coordinate electrical repairs and maintenance activities.</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to convey information about electrical systems and potential improvements.</li> </ul> For this role, we are looking for candidates who have: <ul style="list-style-type:disc" type="disc"> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Red seal or Interprovincial TQ is an asset</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Strong background in PLCs setup and troubleshooting</li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Solid background in heavy industry and construction</li> </ul> At Canfor, diversity means understanding, recognizing, and valuing the differences that make each person unique.
