We're seeking a Certified Sawfiler for our Radium, BC Sawmill, where you can put your Red Seal ticket to work as you’ll bring your knowledge of the Sawfiling trade to oversee the safe maintenance and repair of all sawfiling equipment to maximize uptime, quality and production. As a Certified Sawfiler, your responsibilities will include: <ul> <li>Inspect, maintain, and repair saw blades to ensure they are in optimal condition for cutting wood efficiently.</li> <li>Sharpen saw teeth and set blades according to specifications, taking into account the type of wood being processed.</li> <li>Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with saw blades, identifying causes of reduced performance or premature wear.</li> <li>Implement corrective actions to address blade-related problems and minimize downtime.</li> <li>Conduct regular inspections of saw blades to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.</li> <li>Monitor and maintain the precision of blade profiles to achieve high-quality cuts and minimize waste.</li> <li>Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including blade sharpening schedules, adjustments made, and any issues identified.</li> <li>Document blade usage and performance metrics to facilitate preventive maintenance planning.</li> <li>Collaborate with sawmill operators and maintenance personnel to understand cutting requirements and troubleshoot cutting-related issues.</li> <li>Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate blade maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks.</li> </ul> For this role, we are looking for candidates who have: <ul> <li>Red seal or Interprovincial TQ</li> </ul> The hourly rate for this position is: $50.115 Please Note: The wage provided is for base pay only.
