How You’ll Make an Impact As an Improvement Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, responsible for implementing process and technology improvement opportunities within your technology area. This includes leading teams that evaluate improvements from the opportunity list for possible implementation and working with technology experts (Centers of Excellence) to collect data required to complete scope definition for improvement projects and activities. In This Role, You Will: <ul> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Possess in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets helping to establish credibility with the operations team.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Lead continuous improvement activities (gap closure and project scope definition) for the unit and serve in specific project-related roles as the manufacturing representative through Front-End Loading (FEL) design.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Partner with experts (Centers of Excellence, Operations, Environmental Health & Safety) to develop project scope and gap closure plans that support business objectives.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Analyze production loss accounting data to develop and prioritize a list of process improvement opportunities.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Champion process safety activities in project design and partner with Operations to ensure a robust, safe manufacturing process.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Ensure implementation of the most effective technology by integrating operability input from Operations, corporate and business Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Maintenance and Reliability into project definition and design.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Carry accountability for the technical integrity and operability of the units supported.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Ensure effective interface between the manufacturing representative and plant operations to ensure technical integrity and optimum operability.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Provide effective communication and coordination between project teams and Operations.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Support project Front-End Loading activities as required.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Serve as the lead person for all new plant product trials.</li> </ul> Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success <ul> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">3+ years of experience as an engineer within a chemical plant.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Proven record of leveraging technology and process optimization.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Vision for establishing and maximizing value from process optimization.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and tools.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and goals.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Ability to interact effectively with all levels and departments at the site.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Strong planning, organization, presentation, and influencing skills.</li> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Self-driven and goal oriented.</li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward <ul> <li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.</li> </ul> Your Work Environment At Lubrizol, we’re committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where you can do your best work—whether in a lab, on the production floor, or in a hybrid office setting.
