Overview: We are seeking a Multi-Function Information Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of complex systems that include both software and hardware/infrastructure components. You will interface across multiple layers—from user-facing applications, system infrastructure and networking. You will apply systems engineering principles throughout the lifecycle (requirements, architecture, integration, verification & validation, sustainment). This position resides in the Support Services & Isolated Environments group in the Research Computing division of the Information Technology Services Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). This team supports the ORNL’s goals through robust systems engineering, integration, and support tailored specifically for our NSS research community. We manage a variety of critical infrastructures including mid-range clusters, servers, workstations, and other pivotal services.
