<p>Job Title: Field Technician 1</p> <p>Reports to (title): Field Supervisor</p> <p>Department: Petroleum</p> <p> </p> <p>Basic Purpose: What is the overall function of the job?</p> <p> </p> <p>· Field sampling of various product and process streams. Seek and follow guidance provided by Team Leads, Senior PM’s and</p> <p>Supervisor. Ensure the production of high quality, legally defensible data and reports, safely and on time. Provide excellent</p> <p>customer service. Providing limited or specific technical expertise to our customers.</p> <p>Key Accountability/Responsibilities: What specifically is this job expected to accomplish?</p> <p> </p> <p>· Conduct basic field sampling projects in conjunction with a more senior technologist</p> <p>· Review field data with assistance from supervisor or more senior field staff to ensure sampling is completed as per applicable test</p> <p>methods and protocols</p> <p>· Prepare equipment and chemicals, client confirmation and site-specific safety training, field sampling, field QA/QC of data,</p> <p>collection of field data, fill out daily WHA forms and daily field reports, turns over completed data to senior technologist on</p> <p>project in a timely manner</p> <p>· Perform equipment maintenance, repair and calibration at direction of Supervisor or senior field staff, with training from Senior</p> <p>Project Managers</p> <p>· Communicate with the Supervisor to ensure the correct level of supplies</p> <p>· Provide excellent customer service by always presenting a professional attitude and representing Bureau Veritas in a positive way;</p> <p>comply with all client and Bureau Veritas safety initiatives and rules; provides technical support and expertise to our clients; ensure</p> <p>that all Client requests and expectations are met</p> <p>· Ensure vehicle fleet is maintained in clean, working order</p> <p>· Ensure bays are kept clean at all times</p> <p>· Perform QA/QC of data as required by Reporting or Management</p> <p>· Act as an agent of positive change in supporting Bureau Veritas’s new operating and cultural initiatives</p> <p>· Ensure daily use of personal monitors, and use of all required PPE</p> <p>· Ensure use of personal gas monitors during field projects</p> <p>· Adhere to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy</p> <p>· Support and comply with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program</p> <p>· Participate, when requested in lab and Health & Safety meetings</p> <p>· Participate, when requested in internal and external audits</p> <p>· Keep work area clean, neat and organized at all times</p> <p>· Providing support and training to other group employees</p> <p>· Provide general lab support to other departments as required</p> <p>· Suggest and implement production efficiencies</p> <p>· All other responsibilities as assigned</p> <p> </p> <p>Skills and Knowledge: What skills and knowledge are used to carry out job responsibilities and solve problems?</p> <p> </p> <p>· 2-year technical diploma or 2-3 years relevant chemistry related work experience</p> <p>· 2-year technical diploma or 0-2 years relevant related work experience</p> <p>· Limited or basic understanding of well and plant processing techniques and concepts</p> <p>· Limited or basic knowledge of sampling methods and theories</p> <p>· Basic understanding of chemistry, plumbing, and electrical techniques and concepts</p> <p>· Willingness to travel and work extended hours in the field</p> <p>· Knowledge of safe work procedures and requirements</p> <p>· Basic knowledge of MS Office capabilities</p> <p>· Accurately follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and instructions</p> <p>· Good time-management, multi-tasking and priority setting skills</p> <p>· Detail orientated and record keeping skills</p> <p>· Demonstrated ability with problem solving, effective communication, and energetic, motivated, positive, analytical mindset.</p> <p>· Flexibility to deal with different situations and personalities</p> <p>· Adapts to a changing environment</p> <p>· Lead a crew, and ensure the job is completed on schedule, to the client and management’s satisfaction</p> <p>· Works both independently and as part of a team</p> <p>· Ability to learn quickly and take direction from others</p> <p> </p> <p>Work Relationships</p> <p> </p> <p>Internal: Field staff, sales, technical support groups, human resources, purchasing, management, staff from other locations</p> <p>External: Daily interaction with customers and clients</p> <p> </p> <p>Working Conditions: physical work environment, physical effort, visual and listening attention, and travel</p> <p> </p> <p>· Out of town travel.</p> <p>· Work is mainly out of doors, so ambient conditions must always be expected.</p> <p>· Heavy lifting.</p> <p>· Work extended hours.</p> <p>· Able to work in a safe manner in possibly noisy environments, with the possibility of exposure to airborne contaminants and fumes.</p>
