It’s a challenging yet rewarding role that offers the opportunity to be part of a highly skilled team. As an operational firefighter, you will respond to emergencies in line with regulations and procedures, carrying out firefighting and rescue duties to protect lives, property, and the environment. You will ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, promoting safe working practices to minimise risk to yourself, colleagues, customers, and airport staff. You will build effective relationships with internal and external agencies, applying agreed policies and procedures during emergency incidents while maintaining professional competence to meet regulatory standards. The role also involves maintaining equipment and resources to ensure operational readiness and compliance with audit requirements. In addition, you will support winter operations, including snow clearance and de-icing, as well as first aid, fire safety activities, hydrant testing, environmental protection, and post-incident recovery actions.
