As a Financial Accountant II, you'll make sure ours are right - recording transactions accurately, reviewing Balance Sheet reconciliations and keeping our financial records complete. You'll also guide and mentor team members, sharing your know-how to help the team grow.</div> <div>This role suits someone who takes ownership, thinks carefully and doesn't let errors slide.</div> </div></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">What you'll do</H2> </div><div><div><strong>Financial accounting</strong></div> <ul> <li>Record financial transactions accurately and on time throughout the month</li> <li>Execute month-end entries in line with the 'Month End Task List'</li> <li>Review and release Purchase Orders – checking VAT compliance, correct General Ledger allocation and budget availability</li> <li>Maintain Accruals, Contingencies, Provisioning and PrePaid schedules</li> </ul> <div><strong>Control environment</strong></div> <ul> <li>Spot and act on opportunities to strengthen controls</li> <li>Design and maintain effective accounting processes and systems</li> <li>Review SAP Master Data regularly and keep it current</li> </ul> <div><strong>Analysis and reporting</strong></div> <ul> <li>Perform month-on-month Income Statement expense analysis</li> <li>Review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolve items timeously</li> <li>Produce clear reports that other teams can use directly</li> </ul> <div><strong>Team support</strong></div> <ul> <li>Guide and mentor team members in your area of expertise</li> <li>Review kilometre claims, personnel claims and payment requisitions before they go to Accounts Payable</li> <li>Review outstanding Purchase Orders weekly and work with Business to action them</li> <li>Help with internal and external audit requests</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">What You''ll Bring </H2> </div><div><div> <div><strong>Minimum qualifications and experience</strong></div> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting – Financial Accounting</li> <li>Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles</li> <li>0–2 years post-articles experience in Financial Accounting, covering a wide range of accounting functions</li> </ul> <div><strong>Preferred</strong></div> <ul> <li>Honours Degree in Accounting – Financial Accounting</li> <li>SAP accounting module experience</li> </ul> <div><strong>Knowledge</strong></div> <ul> <li>IFRS and GAAP</li> <li>Accounting principles and computerised accounting systems</li> <li>South African Tax, including VAT</li> <li>Financial data analysis and interpretation</li> <li>Microsoft Office Suite</li> </ul> <div><strong>Skills</strong></div> <ul> <li>Strong analytical and numerical reasoning</li> <li>Sharp attention to detail</li> <li>Clear written and verbal communication</li> <li>Problem solving and reporting</li> </ul> </div></div></div></div><p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><em>Capitec is committed to diversity and, where feasible, all appointments will support the achievement of our employment equity goals.</em></span></span></p>
