The role may also include managing projects.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What we offer you</strong> </p> <p> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>The opportunity to work for an organization that has a strong sense of purpose, is values driven and helps colleagues to develop professionally and personally through our range of people development programmes</li> <li>Full-time, permanent position </li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>The role</strong> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Conduct relevant activities and provide expert advice for service delivery within one's own area of experience, ensuring compliance with budget constraints and contractual requirements.</li> <li>Produce deliverables within agreed parameters, adhering to defined formats, and meeting deadlines, budget, and quality standards.</li> <li>Discuss and present deliverables with internal and external clients, offering suitable solutions when necessary.</li> <li>Perform activities in accordance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.</li> <li>Pursue Continuous Professional Development to maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.</li> <li>Assess and recommend appropriate time and value for work undertaken for external clients, assisting in determining the most suitable fee and cost structure.</li> <li>Provide guidance to other employees as needed, facilitating effective knowledge transfer and application.</li> <li>Contribute to service delivery improvement by communicating internal and external client feedback as relevant.</li> <li>Undertake routine administration tasks as required, following current processes and procedures.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What you bring</strong> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register in the relevant field of engineering or physical science. The degree program should have been a minimum of two years in duration. Alternatively, qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer will also be considered.</li> <li>Membership in an appropriate professional institution.</li> <li>Working towards or achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status.</li> <li>Adherence to professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics in IMS01.</li> <li>The ability to utilize a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.</li> <li>Capability to apply suitable theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, and maintain engineering products, processes, systems, and services.</li> <li>Proficiency in technical and commercial management, such as project management and process management.</li> <li>Proficiency in the English language that is suitable for the nature of the work.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Preferred but not required</strong></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Classification Society experience preferred.</li> <li>Project management experience preferred.</li> <li>Membership in an appropriate professional institution (nice to have)</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>You are someone who</strong></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Is keen to take accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs</li> <li>Is able to self-manage and prioritize tasks towards achieving goals</li> <li>Is effective at solving problems, trouble-shooting and making timely decisions</li> <li>Is flexible and eager to take initiatives</li> <li>Communicates in a structured way and has ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly language</li> <li>Displays a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environment</li> <li>Responds positively to learning opportunities and is comfortable stepping out of own comfort zone</li> </ul> <p>#LI-KC1 #LI-Hybrid</p>
