Join our team as a Sr Design Engineer - Exhaust.</p> <div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Job Summary</b></H2> </div><div><p>The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting motorcycle development programs from initial concept to delivery for exhaust systems/components. This role helps deliver Harley-Davidson’s world class sound while meeting world-wide noise and tailpipe emissions regulations. They will be a technical resource for a team of engineers and designers, as well as other departments including Manufacturing, Service, Styling, Purchasing, etc. They will be very hands-on with team members, other System and Platform teams and departments to ensure that projects meet time, quality, cost and weight requirements.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Job Responsibilities</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional team to deliver exhaust systems from concept to production</li> <li>Introduction of new technologies into Life Cycle Plans</li> <li>Follow and support engineering best practices and guidelines for design of products</li> <li>Ensure exhaust meets all requirements for great rider experience, regulatory compliance, and durability</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Education Requirements</b></H2> </div><div><div>Bachelor&apos;s Degree Required</div></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Education Specifications</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Bachelors of Science (BS) degree is required in either: Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-mechanical.</li> <li>Masters of Science degree (MS) in a technical field preferred.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Experience Requirements</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Typically requires 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience working directly in product development</li> <li>Well-rounded engineering background in multiple areas of product development and project management</li> <li>Background in being the “point person” on technical design reviews (DFMEA and DVP&amp;R)</li> <li>Working knowledge of CAD tools (Pro-E or Creo) to ensure design accuracy</li> <li>Good understanding of noise development and design of mufflers, headers, and catalysts</li> <li>Experienced with Geometric Dimensioning &amp; Tolerancing and datum structure development.</li> <li>Concise communication skills, detail-oriented mindset, and is a strong team player.</li> </ul></div></div></div><p>The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role.
