This role is critical in maintaining the reputation of the company as a reliable supplier of high-quality products. It involves a combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and strong communication and leadership skills. Roles & Responsibilities <ul style="margin-bottom:11.0px"> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Overseeing, developing, and implementing quality control procedures and standards for ready-mix concrete production. This involves conducting regular tests, inspections, and analyses to ensure that the concrete meets industry specifications and customer requirements.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Designing and maintaining testing protocols for various properties of ready-mix concrete, such as slump, air, unit weight, temperature, and compressive strength. Ensuring that all equipment and instruments used for testing are properly calibrated and functioning accurately.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Staying up to date with city, state, and government standards related to producing ready-mix concrete. Ensuring that the ready-mix plants comply with regulations and that all necessary certifications are obtained and maintained.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Keeping detailed records of test results, inspections, and quality control measures. Generating reports to provide evidence of compliance and product quality to internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that the ready-mix concrete being delivered meets the required quality standards. Communicating any issues or concerns regarding product quality and working together to address them.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance the quality of the products and efficiency of operations. This might involve implementing new testing methods, optimizing storage conditions, or recommending equipment upgrades.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Train and manage a team of technical services representatives responsible for carrying out various testing procedures at the plants, labs, and project sites, ensuring that the team is well-trained and competent in their roles.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Collaborate with other business departments, such as operations, maintenance, safety, and sales, to ensure a holistic approach to quality control and overall plant operations.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay current with advancements in concrete technology, technical service methods, and industry best practices.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Effectively communicate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to provide information about quality control processes, test results, and compliance.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Complete all paperwork and reports required by the company in a timely manner.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Review timecards and monitor attendance. Adhere to and positively communicate all company policies.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Regular and predictable attendance is required</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Other duties as may be assigned </li> </ul> Skills & Qualifications <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Engineering, or other engineering fields will also be considered based on relevance </li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Minimum of 7 years in concrete or concrete products quality control required.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Minimum 2 years of experience managing a team of 2 or more, preferred</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Proven ability to understand technical aspects of concrete design and production.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication and conflict resolution.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Strong mentoring and coaching skills.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
