Position Overview The Secondary Plant Operator will operate, assist in maintenance, and have overall responsibility of the primary aggregate plant in our quarry in Pittston, PA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA’s, TRACK, etc.)</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform pre-shift and workplace examinations to ensure safe working conditions. Informs the Supervisor of any questionable material being produced or any repairs affecting quality that may be needed. Directs material to stockpile.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Operates PC to start and stop the primary control.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Starts and stops crusher and feeder at appropriate times and observes movement of material into and through crusher.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Maximize production of the primary products.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Uses tools such as bars, sledgehammers, battery powered tools, ratchets, torque wrench, welder, oxy/fuel torch, etc., to relieve jams, and perform maintenance and repairs.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Inspects equipment, makes repairs, lubricates plant, and operating adjustments as necessary.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Guides and mentors the ground team to complete plant tasks (i.e. while plant is in operation, cleanup, greasing, belt tracking, organization). Trains others how to operate plant in safe and efficient manner.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Reports need for repairs. Calls for additional help when needed.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Coordinates truck dumping according to the status of the plant.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Completes daily reports and charts as required and directed. Maintains records of crusher settings, plant inspections, and greasing logs.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Inspects belt scale and cleans daily. Records and reports mechanical downtime, tonnage, and truck count through the plant.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Communicates and works with pit loader operator to resolve issues in the pit and ensure uninterrupted efficient rate of material to plant.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
