The Elko Operations Manager leads and manages all aspects of safety, operations, sales, finance, equipment and critical support functions with the primary responsibility for ensuring effective execution of company aggregate operational performance and growth strategy. Competency requirements include business acumen, customer focus, developing direct reports, drive for results, strategic agility and building effective teams. Collaborates with the local Safety and Environmental Departments to maintain a safe working environment that complies with company standards, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Ensures that all processes and equipment meet or exceed MSHA, OSHA and CRH safety guidelines. Continuously pursues a culture of Safety at all times and actively engages employees to reinforce safe behaviors</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Responsible for all aggregate/asphalt operations including safe production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems within company’s operations for aggregate production.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company and regional goals.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Ensure that all crews have the tools and training to operate safely at all times and that all federal, state and local laws concerning safety, environment and other applicable areas are adhered to.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Provide leadership and direction to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Lead team in personal performance management including: team building, training and development, succession planning and effective recruiting and hiring.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Work with GM to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Participate in annual budgeting and capital expenditure planning for aggregate/asphalt operations with OpCo leadership.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Management of Capital Expenditure Projects for assigned area.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Provide advice and support to estimating and sales teams during the job bidding process.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Work closely with other lines of business (construction, ready mix concrete, and asphalt production) to ensure sufficient, quality products are provided for their needs</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Performs other duties as assigned.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><strong> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:10.0pt">To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><em>Education and/or Experience</em></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">BS Degree and or High School diploma with ten (5) or more years’ experience in operations.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Must have valid drivers license.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Ability to manage and motivate team members of varying pipeline levels to engage in and support all safety, production, and financial initiatives.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Experience in aggregate/asphalt/RMC production, delivery, sales, and customer service is highly preferred.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">In-depth knowledge of applicable rules and regulations governed by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, including OSHA/MSHA.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance.</span></li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Experience effectively managing and leading teams.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><em>Language Skills</em></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="font-size:10.0pt">Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
