Hillman/ Tailman will be responsible for preparing pipe and jobsites for underground utility installation (water, sewer, storm drains) by cutting/fitting pipes, rigging materials, assisting pipelayers with alignment and joining, and performing general manual labor like shoveling, signaling equipment, and maintaining safety, requiring strength, stamina, and teamwork to support the crew. Responsibilities: <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Cutting, beveling, marking, and assembling pipe sections.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Trenching, shoring, clearing materials, and preparing the area for laying pipe.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Working closely with pipelayers and equipment operators, aligning pipe, checking grades, and hooking up pumps.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Identify all utilities and underground lines before beginning excavation.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Shovel earth/dirt to prepare ground trenches for pipes. </li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Attach trench box to chains/guide wires so it can be lowered or lifted by the equipment operator.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Perform pipe cutting and connections with the required tools and bonding agents.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, following safety protocols, wearing PPE </li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed</li> </ul> Key Skills & Requirements: <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Strong communication with supervisors, project managers, and crew.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Ensuring correct placement, alignment, and adherence to job specifications.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'times new roman', times, sans-serif">Requires the following motions: bending, hammering, stooping, pushing, pulling, squatting, and throwing.
