Duties & Responsibilities: 50% Operations <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Coordinates and assigns the dispatching of trucks in the yard.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Communicates on multiple devises, i.e. computer, phone, fax, hand-held and CB radios.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Learns how to read multiple types of meters and gauges at specified intervals verify operating conditions.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Assists with writing reports and maintaining logbook of asphalt production and maintenance actions taken during shift.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Keeps control room clean by performing housekeeping tasks.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Maintain a safe environment for he/she self and crew within plant confines.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Assesses daily job tasks for potential safety concerns.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Communicates with vendors, trucks, operations, plant crew, and supervisor as needed.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Safely and efficiently load trucks and process required tickets/paperwork</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Responsible for creating daily plant schedule based on various mix needs, capacity, and tonnage</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Collaborate with quality control technicians to ensure the produced asphalt meets required specifications, making adjustments to material blends as needed.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Responsible for safely operating and maintaining asphalt plant and construction equipment by: <ul style="list-style-type:circle"> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Determining proper quantities of materials needed to produce asphalt</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Adjusting controls to regulate flow of materials, maintain proper temperature, and speed of systems.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Monitoring production levels and adjusting production as needed.</li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Train/mentor new hires as needed.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Troubleshoot, problem solve, and successfully discuss production problems with co-workers and Plant Manager.</li> </ul> 30% Plant and Equipment <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Inspects hand tools and equipment for any defects and locks out if defective.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Assists crew with required plant or equipment maintenance or repairs, at ground level or elevated.</li> </ul> I.E plant (tighten or replace bolts) conveyors (belts and rollers), change wear items or implements (blades, buckets), electrical (battery, lights, fuses). <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Performs general maintenance and cleanup on equipment and plant.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Perform daily inspections, preventative maintenance, welding, and repairs on machinery</li> </ul> 15% Safety and Compliance <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Follows company policy, guidelines, and procedures.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Wears proper PPE for required tasks.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Leads TAR daily or change of scope.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Performs Stretch and Flex daily.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Picks up and places safety devices as needed.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Certified in Lockout/ Tagout and Confined Space.</li> </ul> 5% Other duties as assigned Job Requirements: Advanced: <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li style="font-size:12.0pt">Excellent oral and written communication skills.
