Position Overview This position will drive CDL water truck and other vehicles for the purpose of delivering water and other materials to the job site. Duties of CDL driver will include driving truck pulling a trailer with heavy equipment on board for the purpose of delivering to the job site. This position also involes the safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy construction equipment including but not limited to Roller, Blade, Loader, Backhoe, Water Truck Etc. in order to prepare grade for concrete and asphalt. This position will also work at construction sites performing general construction and clean-up tasks. Equipment operated may include but is not limited to Roller, Blade, Loader, Backhoe, Etc.</li> <li>Perform labor duties including; shovel, rake and compact materials in grading operation.</li> <li>Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.</li> <li>Keep machines cleaned and maintained.</li> <li>Must have knowledge of proper equipment operation, grade and work operations</li> <li>Perform “grade check” duties, including hammering hubs, reading grade stakes and plans</li> <li>Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.</li> <li>Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.</li> <li>Regular and timely attendance.</li> <li>Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.</li> <li>Previous asphalt grade/pave operations and/or construction related experience preferred.</li> </ul> Knowledge/Skill Requirements <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Must have a valid driver’s license.</li> <li>Class A CDL with self-certification of non-excepted interstate and current DOT medical card required.</li> </ul> Work Requirements <ul> <li style="list-style-type:none"> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.</li> <li>Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.</li> <li>Demonstrates the willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays.</li> <li>Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.</li> <li>Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, site specifications, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
