The engineer manages projects in the packaging department.</span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc" type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Improves the reliability of products and packaging equipment. Works with operations on continuous improvement of packaging lines and equipment. This is a hands-on engineering role. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Troubleshoots and improves new and existing equipment. Partners with operations to gather data to identify root causes and solutions to production problems. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Originates concepts for new and existing packaging equipment, including support equipment such as conveying, robotics, instrumentation, weight control, and quality systems. Manages and engineers approved projects through to completion. Projects will cover a diverse range both in scope and area.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Able to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to peers, subordinates and leadership within the organization and across organizational lines</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to work weekends as needed.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Education and/or Experience</strong></span></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc" type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">BS/BA in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering or similar discipline such as industrial engineering.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">2+ years in a manufacturing/industrial environment.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Strong mechanical experience preferred. </span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Fundamental understanding of electrical design practices, control systems integration, electro-mechanical drive systems, and safety.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Allen Bradley PLC and Wonderware programming experience a plus. </span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Location:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Baltimore, MD</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>SALARY PAY RANGE:</strong> $65,000 - $108,000 plus bonus</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following 30 days of employment, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, vacation, holiday and sick time. </span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p><p>We are an equal opportunity employer.
