OVERVIEW This position will directly supervise up to 30 unionized employees on rotating shifts. DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Supervise and coordinate loading/unloading operations. Assigns duties and ensures conformance to policies and procedures.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Maintain a high level of interaction with all associates.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Develop weekly labor schedules.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Enforce company policies, and hold employees accountable.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Maintain a continuous improvement philosophy.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity and following FIFO policy.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure that shipments are accurate and free of damage.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Orderly stacking of product.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Lead operations in a way that promotes safety.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Produce and analyze reports related to warehouse and distribution.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Responsible for the security of the building when acting as supervisor in charge.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Rotating shifts and reasonable overtime (including some weekends) required</li> </ul> WORK EXPERIENCES <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a high volume warehouse</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">4-year degree highly desirable.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience in a union environment preferred.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience with consumer product goods / retail distribution preferred.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Successful communication - written and verbal.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to establish priorities and multi-task.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience with personal computers and materials handling equipment.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to understand, produce and explain reports</li> </ul> EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">At least 1 year experience working in an industrial setting preferred</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">MS Office (Word / Excel / Email) a must!</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Must be able to work weekends, overtime and rotating shifts</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Excellent Communication Skills</li> </ul> LOCATION OF ROLE <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Baltimore, MD</li> </ul> SALARY PAY RANGE: $62,500 - $115,500 plus bonus The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
