Job Summary <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Responsible for controls and automation related activity in Connecticut facilities. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Assist engineering and maintenance teams as well as provide 24/7 support of the electrical and controls systems. Must have experience with technologies ranging from the 1980’s thru the most modern up to date instrumentation, PLC’s, and HMI/SCADA systems.</li> </ul> Starting pay: $30.00 Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, FSA, HSA, Life & Disability Insurance, 19 Days Paid Time Off and 6% 401K match Essential Functions <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Help Engineering team create plans for automation projects including system architecture, risk assessment, etc.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Establish good engineering/manufacturing disciplines and promote new ways of thinking that will produce best in class automation practices</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform PLC installation/modification design and programming </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform HMI installation and programming</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Lead and/or perform investigation into controls related issues and recommend solutions</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Lead and/or perform controls repairs and upgrade on production equipment</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Monitor and evaluate technology trends. Conduct research on leading edge technologies and determine proper fit/application for business needs.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Designs and conducts plant trials to determine the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Evaluate and recommend engineering changes to existing equipment that will ensure maximum productivity </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Develop and implement strategic plans for existing and future automation systems</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Communicate and work closely with plant operations and maintenance departments. Develop effective working relationships with same</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Support plant operations team with technical issues</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Develop accurate and efficient Process and Instrument Drawings for projects through the use of customer specifications, general process descriptions, company standards and verbal instructions.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Communicate and work closely with the I.T. department. Cooperatively maintain existing, and develop new, technologies for effective and stable process controls and information systems (HMI’s, reports, etc)</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Coordinates activities and reviews between General Contractor, Engineering firm(s), and the project team.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Assist in the development of startup and commissioning documents and training of plant staff.</li> <li class="p5" style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Research and analyze data, such as engineering documents, design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine acceptability for project team goals.</li> <li class="p5" style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Directs and coordinates installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and specifications.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Drives the right technology for both immediate and long term growth</li> </ul> Additional Functions <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Engineering Maintenance Manager</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Provide training and direction for mechanics duties related to electrical/control systems</li> </ul> Qualifications <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, Bachelors preferred.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Proficient with Automation Direct and Allen-Bradley PLC ControlLogix Platform and development Tools</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">In-depth knowledge of SCADA/HMI design, configuration, programing, testing, and troubleshooting</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experienced with closed loop controls and tuning</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Familiarity of NEC and NFPA 70</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Excellent interpersonal skills</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Demonstrated ability to write routine reports and correspondence. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Demonstrated ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
