We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for an Operations Buyer (m/f/d) within our Operations Procurement team to help support our Automotive business. As an Operations Buyer (m/f/d) you will have the opportunity to make a difference for the plant in Wevelgem. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by closing smart agreements with many suppliers. The team you will be working with is very diverse and continuously raises the bar. Additionally, you’ll: <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Implement regional indirect procurement contracts within the assigned plant and manage all indirect purchases not covered by regional agreements</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Oversee commercial activities, including negotiation and implementation, related to engineering changes impacting serial production parts after Phase 5 sign off</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Support Category Management in executing Commodity strategies and productivity initiatives</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Manage supplier performance in coordination with the Commodity Manager, focusing on quality, cost, and deliver</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Provide procurement input for the plant's Supplier Scorecard</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Serve as the plant's first escalation point for issues involving external suppliers</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Maintain accurate serial pricing in the plant ERP system, including initiating and monitoring price updates throughout the product lifecycle</li> </ul> To be successful in this role, you’ll need: <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Successfully completed technical or business degree with a strong technical understanding or an equivalent education</li> </ul> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">1-3 years of professional experience in international procurement and technical products in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the automotive industry</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Customer focused mindset with strong adherence to deadlines</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to work under pressure with a solution oriented, result-driven approach</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Basic understanding of commercial contract law and manufacturing processes as well as the ability to interpret and analyze CBDs</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Foundational knowledge of ISO 9001; IATF 16949, and VDA 6.3 processes would be a plus</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Business Intelligence tools</li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt">Fluency in English and Dutch; additional languages are an asset</li> </ul> What to Do Next Now that you’ve had a chance to learn more about us, what are you waiting for!
