You’ll also manage outreach to early childhood centres, schools and tertiary institutions. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">You could expect to work on:</span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Developing and maintaining relationships with early childhood centres, schools, youth organisations, and youth groups to champion hazard awareness and disaster preparedness</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Organising and leading workshops, seminars, and training sessions; gaining youth insights to shape the programme of work</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Tailoring and co-designing age-appropriate resources for young people and whānau</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><em><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">This role will be required to participate in Auckland Emergency Management’s 24/7 duty team roster and emergency response activations.</span></em></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">He kōrero mōu: About you</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">You’ll have the ability to engage young people and their whānau. Your skills and experience will include familiarity with the 4 R’s (Reduction, Readiness, Response and Recovery), clear communication and community development practice. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">We’re looking for someone who can collaborate with trust and credibility. At times you might work in the context of uncertainty, drawing on your resilience and adaptability.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">We are specifically looking for:</span></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Strong written and facilitation skills to plan and conduct workshops, training sessions and seminars</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Experience in community development, emergency management or a related field</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">An understanding of Auckland’s diverse youth communities would be advantageous </span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><em><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">You’ll need to hold a current NZ driver’s licence, as you’ll be required to travel to various schools and communities.</span></em></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer</span></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Enable Auckland&apos;s young people to build the skills and confidence to navigate future emergencies.
