As our Manager Building Consents Capability, you’ll guide the systems, people, and decision making that underpin safe, high quality building work across the region, lifting capability and strengthening the future of building regulation. Sitting within our Building Consents Capability team, this role leads the strategic development of our technical competence, ensuring our people, processes, and frameworks are equipped to deliver compliant, and consistent consenting services. Your work will span technical assurance, competency frameworks, training, accreditation, and continuous improvement. You’ll champion our Technical Assurance system, oversee key regulatory registers, and ensure we continue to meet Building Consent Authority (BCA) accreditation requirements. As a trusted partner to MBIE, IANZ, and industry forums, you’ll represent Auckland Council with professionalism, credibility, and a solution focused mindset. You’ll bring a collaborative, people centred leadership style, strong industry credibility, and the ability to influence, guide, and uplift technical capability across a diverse team. You’ll be confident navigating legislation, accreditation requirements, and quality management frameworks, while also being an engaging communicator who can represent Auckland Council in industry forums with professionalism.
