This role requires deep expertise in software systems for <strong>IP‑based telecommunications</strong>, spanning both back-end routing technologies and front-end user interfaces.</p> <p>The ideal candidate brings proven experience guiding product strategy from concept through deployment. This leader will balance technical depth with strong product management discipline to deliver <strong>mission-critical, standards-compliant solutions</strong> that enhance public safety. The role requires a visionary thinker capable of driving cross-functional, multi-national teams to meet evolving market and regulatory demands.</p> <hr> <h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Strategic Leadership</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Define and execute the R&D roadmap for Emergency 911 software products.</li> <li>Ensure alignment with <strong>NENA i3</strong> and other industry standards.</li> <li>Monitor emerging technologies (NG911, IP-based routing, GIS integration) and integrate them into product strategy.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Product Management</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Own end-to-end product lifecycle processes, including: <ul> <li>Market research</li> <li>Requirements gathering</li> <li>Roadmap planning</li> <li>Prioritization</li> <li>Release management</li> <li>Post-deployment support</li> </ul> </li> <li>Partner with stakeholders (PSAPs, carriers, government agencies) to translate operational needs into actionable product features.</li> <li>Develop business cases, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>R&D Oversight</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Lead cross-functional engineering teams in designing, prototyping, and delivering scalable, resilient, and standards-compliant solutions.</li> <li>Ensure interoperability testing and certification with NENA and other regulatory entities.</li> <li>Promote modern development practices such as <strong>Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD</strong>.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>AI-Enabled Development & Testing</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Champion the adoption of <strong>AI-powered coding, code review, and automated testing</strong> tools.</li> <li>Drive implementation of AI-driven regression testing, defect prediction, and test generation.</li> <li>Collaborate with Data & AI teams to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies that improve product quality and developer efficiency.</li> <li>Foster a culture of innovation by piloting AI-enabled development practices and sharing best practices across teams.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Collaboration & Compliance</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Engage with industry bodies, standards committees, and technology partners to stay ahead of regulatory and technical shifts.</li> <li>Ensure products meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements for emergency communication systems.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Innovation & Quality</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Champion innovation in areas such as: <ul> <li>Location accuracy</li> <li>Multimedia call handling (video, text, data)</li> <li>Cloud-native NG911 solutions</li> </ul> </li> <li>Establish rigorous QA processes to ensure reliability in mission-critical environments.</li> </ul> <hr> <h2><strong>Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.</li> <li><strong>8+ years</strong> of experience in software product development, including <strong>3+ years</strong> in product management or R&D leadership.</li> <li>Demonstrated success delivering compliant, mission-critical software solutions.</li> <li>Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.</li> </ul> <hr> <h2><strong>Desired Skills</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Knowledge of <strong>Emergency 911 systems</strong>, NENA i3 standards, and public safety communications.</li> <li>Experience with GIS, SIP protocols, and IP-based call routing.</li> <li>Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architectures.</li> <li>Ability to balance innovation with regulatory compliance and customer requirements.</li> <li>Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.</li> </ul> </div>
