This role integrates responsibilities across three core functions:<br>Clerk: Performs data entry and ensures cleanliness, organization, and order across work areas.<br>Material Handler: Executes physical tasks to efficiently move, store, and manage materials.<br>Operator: Safely operates non-forklift machinery (e.g., hydraulic press) in accordance with established procedures.</p> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required </strong> </p> <p>High School Diploma or GED Preferred</p> <p>Clean Criminal Background Check </p> <p>1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. <br>Must speak fluent english. <br>Good physical condition to handle demands of the job, inventory control, safety awareness. <br>Leaf Point (Press Operators), General Equipment Operation, Quality Control, Safety. </p> <p><strong>OUR WAY Pillars </strong> </p> <p>Empathize With Others - Collaborate Without Limits - Share Joy <br>Take Ownership - Focus on Value - Strive for More <br>Create a Safe Space - Invite Challenge - Challenge for Better <br>Focus on Consumers - Think Forward - Make Responsible Choices</p> <p><strong>Main Areas of Responsibility </strong> </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Data Entry:<br>Scan barcodes on incoming and outgoing products to ensure accurate tracking.<br>Identify and account for any missing product barcodes.<br>Register materials accurately within the system.<br>Collect forms and test results, entering all required data into the QIMs system.<br>Use scales to measure test results or as required by assigned tasks.<br>Review and validate data for accuracy and completeness prior to submission." <br> <br> </li> <li>Spare Parts Coordination:<br>Store inventory in an organized and accessible manner across warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, and other designated areas.<br>Receive and accurately count stock items, recording data manually or within system applications.<br>Label and identify stock using tags, stamps, electronic marking tools, or other appropriate methods.<br>Pack and unpack materials for storage in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.<br>Inspect inventory for wear, damage, or defects and promptly report findings to supervisors.<br>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts room; support maintenance team inquiries as needed.<br>Assist JTI staff with machine and facility repairs as required.<br>Track and account for all spare parts issued or consumed." <br> <br> </li> <li>Buying Station Operations:<br>Maintain effective communication with tobacco farmers.<br>Manage and process farmers' payments.<br>Verify accuracy of incoming data before submission.<br>Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for various tasks." <br> <br> </li> <li>Picking:<br>Remove stems, off-color tobacco, and foreign materials such as strings, dirt, and paper from tobacco on the conveyor to ensure a clean and uniform product.<br>Dispose of foreign materials in appropriate bins.<br>Drop pickings into designated buckets based on the type of material (dark tobacco, green tobacco, tobacco with stems, or foreign material)." <br> <br> </li> <li>Hydraulic Press Operations:<br>Operate the hydraulic press to compact tobacco into containers in accordance with safety and quality standards.<br>Raise the press ram and remove filled containers safely and efficiently.<br>Monitor and read scale measurements, making adjustments as needed to meet required weights.<br>Prepare containers by inserting liners, folding flaps, and feeding units into the banding machine.<br>Collect moisture samples as directed by the LeafPoint system for quality testing.<br>Accurately enter production and sample data into the LeafPoint system.<br>Ensure timely delivery of moisture samples to the Quality department using pneumatic transport, including proper completion of sample tickets." <br> <br> </li> <li>Sweeping Machine Operation: <br>Drive industrial sweeper to clean factory floors continuously.<br>Ensure the sweeper is properly maintained and serviced.<br>Discharge the sweeper dust collector into the appropriate disposal unit.<br>Keep the machine clean and report any issues to the facilities maintenance team.<br>Follow safety rules while operating the sweeper as per company policy." <br> <br> </li> <li>Wire Pulling:<br>Cut wires opposite the knot of the Greenleaf bale.<br>Remove cardboard slip sheets and wires from the bale at the cutting station.<br>Place wires and cardboard in appropriate recycling bins.<br>Remove any foreign material that could lead to tobacco contamination or equipment damage.<br>Request stacks of tops and bottoms as needed.<br> <br> <br> </li> <li>Box Building:<br>Inspect cartons for damage or contamination from suppliers before assembly.<br>Assemble one top and one bottom to create a box.<br>Add required kraft papers or chipboards for the given product.<br>Attach the proper pre-printed belly tag for product identification.<br>Place the box onto roller conveyors for packing. <br> <br> </li> <li>Cleaning:<br>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the factory floor, including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste materials. <br>Sweep designated areas as a assigned by the JTI Department Lead. Remove foreign materials during sweeping, activities and discard them in appropriate bins. <br>Collect and dispose of floor sweepings into designated metal containers. <br>Shovel loose materials like sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or tobacco into machine hoppers or containers.<br>Keep the area clean in accordance with the 5S3R policy." <br> <br> </li> <li>Other (if applicable)<br>Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request." <br> <br> </li> </ul> <p> </p><p> </p> <p>Are you ready to join us?
