We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Operations Manager to drive reactivity and operational excellence for our local operation. Directly reporting to the Branch Manager, this pivotal role supports the different operation managers in Zurich serving as an escalation point of contact with local suppliers across Switzerland — including airport handling agents, airlines and shipping lines — and acts as a lead for new implementations and built proactive operational solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with Swiss international logistics networks and key contacts, strong autonomous expertise, and freight forwarding operations background in both Ocean and Air. Key Responsibilities 1. Operational Oversight & troubleshooting <ul type="disc"> <li style="">Build and maintain strong partnerships with Swiss an international logistics provider (airport handling companies, ground carriers, airlines and shipping lines).</li> <li style="">Increase proactiveness in freight executions with the different operations in accordance with the Branch Manager strategy and new businesses implementation.</li> <li style="">Act as the go-to escalation contact for the 3 operations manager based in Zurich and suppliers when implementation or operational challenges arise.</li> </ul> 2. Performance Monitoring & Service Quality <ul type="disc"> <li style="">Built monitoring system and KPIs to measures airlines, shipping line, trucker and customs operations with a focus on timely execution and cost control.</li> <li style="">Support analysis and service failures, investigate root causes, and implement preventive process improvements.</li> </ul> 3. Communication & Suppliers Management <ul type="disc"> <li style="">Lead by example, with no direct report, the perfect candidate will need to have strong influential skills.</li> <li style="">Ensure strong and consistent communication flow between suppliers and operations.</li> <li style="">Support internal service reviews and planning meetings with data-driven insights and solution-oriented recommendations.</li> </ul> 4. Process Optimization & Lean Implementation <ul type="disc"> <li style="">Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational speed, accuracy, and client satisfaction.</li> <li style="">Collaborate with internal business development teams for onboarding new clients or implementing strategic changes.</li> <li style="">Drive cost-optimization initiatives while upholding high service quality standards.</li> </ul> 5.
