Position Overview: The Associate General Counsel will report to and assist the General Counsel by providing practical, commercial legal advice to the property management team in all legal aspects of the operation and management of affordable, mixed-income housing and commercial communities and the provision of services to residents. The Associate General Counsel will have significant exposure to business leaders at Beacon and will work closely with other legal department colleagues, senior leaders, and business executives in a collaborative, results-oriented, nimble, entrepreneurial, and positive business environment.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have six to eight plus years of experience practicing as a residential and/or commercial real estate attorney, preferably with substantial experience in affordable housing and community development law, landlord/tenant matters, property management, fair housing, and general corporate work.
Location: Boston, MA (potential for a remote/hybrid work arrangement from certain other locations, but local Boston candidates or those willing to relocate are preferred).
Compensation: $225k-$250k plus a 25% bonus.
Bar: Bar admission in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or willing to become licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an in-house counsel.
